The following are types of osteoarthritis surgery:

  1. Joint replacement surgery (e.g. hip replacement, knee replacement)
  2. Arthroscopy (minimally invasive procedure to clean or repair joint)
  3. Osteotomy (realigning bone to take pressure off the joint)
  4. Joint fusion (joining two bones together to eliminate movement in the joint)
  5. Cartilage transplant or repair (replacing or repairing damaged cartilage)

The type of surgery recommended depends on the location and severity of osteoarthritis, as well as the patient's overall health and goals for treatment.
