Childhood arthritis can lead to a range of mobility issues, including:

  1. Joint pain and swelling: Inflammation in the joints can cause pain and swelling, making it difficult for a child to move the affected joint(s).
  2. Reduced range of motion: Over time, joint pain and swelling can lead to stiffness and decreased range of motion, making it difficult for a child to perform daily activities.
  3. Muscle weakness: In some types of childhood arthritis, such as juvenile dermatomyositis, muscle weakness can also occur, which can further affect mobility and ability to perform daily activities.
  4. Difficulty with physical activities: Childhood arthritis can make it difficult for a child to participate in physical activities and sports, which can have a negative impact on their overall physical and emotional health.
