Which foods to avoid with gout?
#1
Gout is a type of arthritis caused by the build-up of uric acid crystals in the joints, leading to pain and inflammation. To help manage gout, it is recommended to avoid or limit the following foods:

  1. Alcohol, especially beer
  2. High-purine foods such as red meat, organ meats (liver, kidneys), and seafood (anchovies, sardines, herring, mussels, scallops)
  3. Processed and packaged foods high in sodium
  4. Sugary drinks, including fruit juices and sodas
  5. Foods high in fructose, such as sweetened drinks, candy, and baked goods

It's also important to drink plenty of water and maintain a healthy diet and weight, as being overweight can increase the risk of gout attacks.
