Psoriatic arthritis and fatigue
#1
Fatigue is a common symptom of psoriatic arthritis, which is a type of inflammatory arthritis that affects people with psoriasis. Fatigue can have a significant impact on daily activities and quality of life, and can be caused by several factors related to psoriatic arthritis, including:
  • Inflammation in the joints and throughout the body
  • Pain and stiffness in the joints
  • Difficulty sleeping due to pain or discomfort
  • Depression or anxiety related to the disease
  • Side effects of medications used to treat psoriatic arthritis

Treatment for fatigue in people with psoriatic arthritis typically involves a combination of lifestyle changes and medication. Lifestyle changes that may help include regular exercise, stress management techniques, and sleep hygiene. Medications that may be helpful include nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), and biologic drugs. In some cases, medications for depression or anxiety may also be prescribed to help manage symptoms of fatigue.
