Reactive arthritis is a condition that usually goes away within three to six months of starting treatment. However, in some cases it can become a chronic illness, with 20% of those affected experiencing ongoing symptoms [1]. Most people find that their symptoms come and go, with good days and bad days [2], and usually clear up within 12 months [3].
