Can ankylosing spondylitis cause neuropathy?
#1
Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) can cause neuropathy in some cases, although it is less common than other symptoms such as back pain and stiffness. Neuropathy is a condition that involves damage or dysfunction of nerves, which can cause symptoms such as numbness, tingling, and weakness in different parts of the body. In AS, neuropathy can occur as a result of nerve compression or inflammation, particularly in the spine and peripheral joints.
